The Right Amount Of Product For Your Face

Your skin absorbs everything that you put on it! This intake calls you to pay close attention to the ingredients listed on a product.
Common names to avoid are sulfates, parabens and Phenoxyethanol, choose certified organic and natural skincare products.
However, the amount of an ingredient (of a product) that your body holds onto differentiates, depending on the chemicals in that ingredient!
Using too much product on your face can clog your pores and do more harm than good. Far too little product can cause your skin to dry out and limits the usefulness of the product on your face (especially if you have dry skin).

The right amount of product

As you can see on the illustration below, the amount of product that you should use differentiates. This depends on the product that you choose to put on your face.
Choosing the right amount has all to do with the place that you put the product, where it is used for and the fluidity of it. Make sure to use the right amount of product for it to work effectively on your face.

Skin penetration and skin absorption

Penetration and absorption might sound the same but they’re not the same.
Penetration is when the chemical of a product makes it way past the outer layer of the skin, into the deeper layers.
The chemical entering the bloodstream is what we call absorption.

How to effectively absorb

Penetration needs to come first before absorption can happen.
Exfoliate consistently to stimulate absorption on the skin. Dead skin causes a barrier to your skin what can lead to a skin irritation, this causes absorption to keep off.
Use heavy ointments on top of your liquid/moisturzer for the absorption to properly work (if you have freed your skin from dead skin). Oils with scent are known to penetrate the skin effectively.
