Dead skin cells, oil, or bacteria cloggs your hair follicle or pores, these later make their way up to the skin’s surface, resulting in a form of acne. Additionally, sudden breakouts on the skin are caused by various reasons, such as hormonal changes/imbalance, an unhealthy diet, stress, excessive production of sebum, and much more. Below is a list of substances and ways of doing things that trigger acne that are best to avoid for acnefree skin.

Alcohol and sugar

Sugar absorbes into the bloodstream, raising your sugar levels. After absorption, the insulin levels start to rise, the overduse of insuline that your body is making after eating sugar increases the production of oils in the skin. This leads to your folicles and pores clogging up with speed. This inflammatory stimulates the bacteria to thrive and give you an unpleasant breakout.

Hormones

Fluctuations of different hormones (female and male) can lead to breakouts. These are hormones such us testosteron and menstruation.
During times as these the body produces more oil (sebum) which cases your skin to break out. Just be patient, drink alot of water and use acne-comedonic products.

Picking at your skin

Picking at your skin can be a guilty pleasure for many people, consciously and unconsciously. Just remember that in order for your skin to flourish and be breakout-free, you need to leave your skin alone, touching won’t do any good.
Make sure to double cleanse if you caught yourself in this pleasure.

Make-up

Wearing makeup on acne-prone skin should not be a problem if you do it the right way.
Normal foundations that are not non-comedogenic block your skin’s ability to breathe. However, foundations meant for acne-prone skin will let your skin breathe, preventing further breakouts.
