Chara Kaimaki, (27 years old, recruiter) emigrated from Greece to the Netherlands three years ago and tells us all about what the influences of climate change or ”skinmigration” has done to her skin.

Has the travel contributed to negative consequences for your skin?
“Greece has a sunny climate. The cold climate in the Netherlands has dried out my skin, often making it look dull and irritated. I find that I need more humidification than when I lived in Greece.
In addition, I have noticed that I suffer more often from redness and sensitivity on my face because of the cold weather here.”
These consequences led Chara to use soothing products to nourish her face. “I think it is very important to take good care of my face and the Korean skincare helps me with that.

Rhoda: “Do you have any skincare tips for people travveling from a hot to a cold climate?”
Chara advises to moisturize the skin and drink lot of water. Hot weather can lead to dehydration. Prevent oil and sweat from building up by keeping your skin clean. Unclean skin can lead to clogged pores and acne.
Protect your skin well by regularly using sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or 50. ”Sunscreen not only protects against UV rays, but it also prevents wrinkles, age spots and other misery on the body. “The next time you see me with my white nose (from the sunscreen) you know I take my skin care very seriously! :)”

Make-up
When I lived in Greece I used makeup, but today I don’t use makeup anymore. Currently, I use Dr. Schrammek’s BB cream daily. It is a great cream, because in addition to moisturizing, it also provides a nice tan and sun protection.
